On Individual Coaching

Before I started working with Monique, I was lethargic, lacking energy, my body didn’t like me. I was bloated and constipated all the time. When I first talking to Monique she said she could help, I was skeptical as I had tried everything. She said give me 3 to 6 months. I started the initial program and noticed a difference within a week with my constipation, within 2 I was regular for the first time in my 53 years. I am now in month 4 and I feel AMAZING. I have learned different eating habits, learned my body is super sensitive to certain foods (that were part of my normal life). I feel lighter, happier, and my body for the first time in a long time likes me. I am so thankful for Monique and what she has done for me.

My Yoga, Nature & Nutrition retreat in Costa Rica was a transformative journey that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped onto the lush grounds surrounded by tropical rainforest, I felt a profound sense of tranquility and connection to Mother Earth. It was my first time being in Costa Rica, and it was truly unforgettable.

One of the highlights of the retreat was the incredible whole food meals that were prepared with love and care by a talented chef Monique. Each dish was a work of art, bursting with vibrant colors and flavors that nourished not only my body but also my soul. I’m sure that the whole group of 13 people agree with me on that.The communal eating experience gave me a sense of community, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where friendships were formed and laughter echoed through the air. We had many wonderful conversations and many suggestions on where we would love to gather for the future retreat. 

Setting intentions before consuming Monique’s amazing meals became a daily ritual, guiding us to dive deeper into our practice and cultivate a greater sense of mindfulness and awareness. As we know food is our medicine. I (and many other guests of the retreat) were working through some physical imbalances with the help of nutrition recommendations Monique gave us. 

I was honored to help Monique in the kitchen on most days, which ended up being amazing interactive cooking experience. I have learned many new recipes and many skills which I carried with me and apply now while cooking at home. I got inspired by Monique’s way of buying organic local produce, choosing the vibrant vegetables and fruits, preparing the food with so much ease and passion and educating all the guests about the transformative power of Whole Foods. 

Another profound aspect of the retreat was the opportunity to practice yoga twice a day in the open-air yoga shala. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Costa Rican jungle, I felt truly alive and connected to the present moment. Taking classes with Jennifer ended up being a pure joy! The classes were perfect for all the levels since we had participants ages 35-77 in our group. I experienced many moments of profound stillness and clarity, allowing me to release tension and find peace within my physical body.

Overall, the Yoga, Nature & Nutrition retreat in Costa Rica was a truly transformative experience that left me feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and deeply grateful. I returned home with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Being a health care practitioner myself, sometimes you need an inspiring place and other gifted mentors to remind you of the innate power of your body and mind to heal yourself. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone seeking to reconnect with themselves and the natural world in a meaningful and profound way.’

“Montana is one of the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited! The rustic quarters were quaint and comfortable and the environment Monique created was so unique and special. I experienced so many firsts, from learning to fly fish and building a proper fire to seeing gentle moose in the wild. We hiked, saw wildlife, dipped our feet in the river with a GnT in hand and completely relaxed. It was a great way to disconnect and recharge my batteries!”

The Sedona retreat exceeded my expectations on every level.  Monique, Jennifer and Jason are experts in their fields and they gently, lovingly and enthusiastically led us for 5 days.  Our time was laid-back but purposeful – each day nurturing us with yoga, hiking, relaxation and dining on the most spectacular plant-based meals.  Monique is so welcoming in the kitchen, there can be an element of culinary education if you want it.  The combination of twice-daily yoga, experiencing beautiful Sedona, and eating the healthiest of food truly had a restorative effect on my body…and it was these wise and wonderful teachers who had a transformative effect on my heart and soul.

Thank you both for a wonderful experience! It was exactly the reset I needed. “This experience was my first trip to Montana and I can’t wait to go back!  Getting into the mountains was just the break I needed to refocus on my health and relaxation. Monique is a wonderful host who welcomed us into her family’s charming cabins located within the most gorgeous national park. Morning walks, fly fishing, hikes, and cooking lessons were coupled with down time for books, cards and puzzles. Breakfast from the grill, healthy meals and snacks, and cocktail hour with mountain views made you feel like you were at sleep-away camp for adults! I would recommend the Montana trip without hesitation for anyone looking to take a wellness break in a beautiful, natural setting.”

On Cooking Classes

 I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the inspirational push a few years ago.  I have adopted the concept of “mise-en-place” (cutting up my vegetables for use), making soups, cooking (and able to touch) chicken, and I use that little cutting board and class knife constantly….  I am much more adept in the kitchen.

This was our favorite experience we had during our trip to Chicago. [Monique] had so much knowledge from growing the vegetables to getting fresh local meats and produce but most of all cooking it to become a delicious, perfectly balanced and healthy meal.
