Cheese is one of those foods that 100% of my clients dread giving up. I completely understand, it’s so salty, creamy and addictive.
Giving up cheese isn’t for the weak, but it is easier with a few simple recipes up your sleeve. Like this Hemp Seed Cheese. It’s not cheese- let’s be honest. But when you blend hemp seeds with garlic, lemon and salt, you get an interesting creamy and tangy spread that’s great as a dip, smeared in sandwiches and dolloped on warm, roasted veggies. It will help crowd out cheese, if you let it.
Happy day,

Hemp Seed ‘Cheese’
1 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup cashews, soaked
juice of 1 lemon
1 garlic clove, minced
dash of cumin and onion powder
dash of tamari
pinch salt
~water as needed to blend
Place ingredients in a blender or food processor, blend until relatively smooth. Taste- adjust.
Note: I like a lot of lemon, start with juice from 1/2 lemon first, and add more to your liking.
Dairy-free hemp seed makes a creamy spread, dip or dollop.
