I created this Smoked Salmon Bowl using ingredients I had on hand. I happened to have smoked salmon and a vegan Carrot Smoked Salmon hanging out in my fridge as well as left-over black rice. These two items are the key base of the Salmon Bowl.
The rest of the recipe ingredients bring it all together and are classic flavors that compliment the smoked salmon. Have fun with it instead of overthinking it. Let it be sloppy or take a few moments to arrange it artfully.

Smoked Salmon Bowl
- Smoked Salmon or Carrot Smoked Salmon
- Black forbidden rice, cooked
- Avocado
- Persian cucumbers
- Greek yogurt or whipped cream cheese (dairy-free as desired)
- Capers
- Fresh dill
- Optional: Lime wedge, a drizzle of toasted sesame oil, pickled red onions and a dash of kelp flakes
Warm the rice and place in a pretty bowl. Add the salmon. Slice the cucumbers and avocado, add to the bowl. Top with a dollop of Greek yogurt or cream cheese, a couple of capers and some fresh dill.
Bonus points for a lime wedge, drizzle of toasted sesame oil, red onions and kelp flakes.
