Of course, my initial response is to yell from the top of my lungs “YES YOU DO!”
Before we get to that, perhaps you’re asking, “What exactly is a wellness vacation?” Vacations are often looked at through total overindulgence or nothing lens. Coming back from a vacation and needing to go immediately on a diet only exacerbates the stress of daily life. Eat it all, drink through the whole thing and throw the workouts out the window. Once you’ve fallen out of your routine, it’s too easy to continue in that manner once your home.
Close your eyes for a moment. Think about what it would feel like if you could come back in better shape than when you left?

This is the new, softer way of traveling that is meant to rejuvenate you. Adding in some physical movement, incorporating more foods that make you feel good than bad. Perhaps even going to bed earlier than normal.
A wellness vacation is about incorporating your everyday life into your vacation for the best benefits of stress reduction, overall physical and mental wellbeing and your happiness.

Your travel budget doesn’t need to stop you. Make up your mind to incorporate 1-3 aspects of wellness into every single day of your getaway.
- Wake up and meditate on the beach or in your hotel room.
- Sign up for a local fitness class, hike or walking tour.
- Choose at least half of your vacation to be booze-free.
- Do one new thing that scares you.
- Research a local restaurant that serves ‘Monique-approved’ foods 😉
