This easy Chocolate Oat Cake uses 4 basic ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen right now. Oatmeal, cacao powder, eggs, and a banana create this simple dessert! No added sugar, no flour, no dairy.
How does it taste though? It’s like a little baked oatmeal treat. Elevate it with a handful of nuts, a drizzle of honey, and a bit of coconut cream. I pump this Chocolate Oat Cake up with protein by adding a scoop of collagen powder too- so versatile!
Happy eating,

Chocolate Oat Cake
1/2 cup + 2 tbls oats
1/2 cup milk, warmed (I used full-fat coconut milk)
1 ripe banana
1 egg
2 tbls cacao powder
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
handful of walnuts, crushed
Optional: 1 scoop collagen powder
To plate: drizzle with honey, berries, coconut cream
Directions: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a small tart pan or a couple of separate ramekins using your preferred oil or ghee.
Soak the oat in hot milk for about 10 minutes. Add the banana and mash together. Stir in the eggs, salt, cacao, baking powder, and collagen powder (if using) until well combined.
Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan(s) and sprinkle with nuts. Bake for ~35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool slightly before cutting. Decorate with drizzled honey, a couple of fresh berries and a spoonful of coconut cream.
